Make-up for men.
I created a brand called SMINK, meaning make-up in Swedish (my first language). The reason was that I felt that there was no make-up brand that advertised towards straight men.
As seen in the logo, I have divided it up into two parts. The latter part made looking like it's been sprayed on. That is done because I wanted to link street art and graffiti with men's make-up.
Giving the feeling that Smink Make-up is the next step for men to express themselves.
The pop-up store would be located at the popular club Printworks in london. it has a capacity for 6000 people and host a lot of electronic music events. People that attend these events tend to express themselves creatively through makeup and unique clothing. The pop-up store would have two poles at the front with AR screens, showing how different make-up looks would look on the visitors faces in real-time. The staff at the pop-up store could after that paint the look of choice on the visitors face, spreading awareness of the brand at the music event.
on the back side of the pop-up, a street artist would spray live graffiti creating interest in the pop-up store.
I decided to make an aluminium container that the make-up could be carried in. This is because men usually don't have purses, which gives an exciting look, creating interest for others to find out what it contains.
Prototype for the keychain container.
3D printed in PLA and finished with silver paint to give aluminium appearance.
The brand would advertise mainly through TikTok to reach the Gen Z market.
By creating videos under the hashtag #Mysmink, where men show how to apply make-up and how to create unique looks, I hope to create a trend where men can share their styles and inspire each other.
The picture shows how the make-up would be transported in the aluminium container attached to a keychain.
Early sketches of the container and make-up.
